Course Synopsis:

Did you know? The National Highway System (NHS) Designation Act of 1995 required States to conduct life-cycle cost analysis on NHS projects costing $25 Million or more.

Life-Cycle Cost Analysis is an analysis technique that builds on the well-founded principles of economic analysis to evaluate the over-all-long-term economic efficiency between competing alternative investment options. This course provides technical guidance and recommendations on good practice in conducting Life-Cycle Cost Analysis (LCCA) in pavement design.

Course Objectives:

This course teaches the following specific engineering knowledge and skills regarding Pavement Design Life Cycle Cost Analysis:

  • Definitions and terms used in the LCCA

  • Applications and procedures of inputs in the analysis

  • Introduction of each component and its usage
